Writers are frequently advised to "write what you know." So perhaps designers should design what they know. I've often looked far afield for my inspiration, drawing on sights and scents I've encountered on trips abroad. I've also looked back in time, studying antique prints and furnishings to create designs for here and now. I enjoy letting my imagination range, but sometimes, what's right in my own backyard is just as inspiring.

I pass my garden every day on the path from the house to the office, and this spring and summer the glorious fragrances and intense colors of the flowers called to me. These voices from the garden reminded me that what is familiar can also be exciting. In response, I created new lines to celebrate old friends - iris, hyacinth, narcissus, peony, and magnolia - and the birds and rabbits that have come to visit them.

We have over 200 new products, designs and scents to help welcome spring to your store. In response to your feedback, we added a fourteen-inch round wooden tray and created a marvelous collection of thirty different matchboxes to complement our candles. We also echoed our popular Book Box Notecards with adorable, chubby Notepad Books and launched a charming line of eighteen individual guest soaps in mix and match designs.
